Kitchens get used hard, so the finish has to stand up to hands, steam and cleaning. We use finishes made for cabinetry and give each coat the drying time it needs.

Painting puts a new opaque color over a sound cabinet, sprayed to a smooth, even finish. Refinishing keeps the wood visible: the old finish is stripped back to the wood, the surface is repaired and sanded, then stained or toned and sealed with a clear coat. Painting suits a kitchen you want a different color in. Refinishing suits good wood that has gone tired.
Can you refinish cabinets without painting them?
Yes. If the cabinets are solid wood and the boxes are sound, they can be stripped back to the wood, repaired, stained or toned to the shade you want, and sealed with a clear coat. With veneer or thermofoil doors it depends on the material and its condition, so we look at your doors and frames at the walkthrough before recommending painting, refinishing or replacement.
Can I just paint over my cabinets?
You can, and that's usually how a cabinet job goes wrong. Paint won't hold on a greasy or glossy surface. The cleaning, sanding and priming are what make the finish last, and they get most of our time.
Is it worth having kitchen cabinets professionally painted?
If the boxes and doors are sound and you like the layout, yes. You keep the kitchen you have and get a sprayed, even finish for a fraction of what a remodel costs, in far less time and with far less disruption.
How much does cabinet painting cost?
It's priced by the number of doors and drawers, the condition of the surfaces, and the finish you choose. After a short walkthrough we send a detailed, fixed estimate.
Can you paint over cabinets that are already painted?
Yes. We sand the old finish for adhesion, prime, and spray. If the old paint is failing or chipping, we take it further back first, and we tell you that upfront.
Do you paint built-ins too?
Yes. Built-in shelving and other cabinetry get the same prep and the same sprayed finish.
