Glencoe has been building since it was incorporated in 1869, and the village describes residential streets carrying a broad range of architectural styles from then to the present day, so houses here vary a great deal in age.
Where that matters most is wallpaper on an older wall. Paper shows what is underneath it, so the wall is assessed first: whether there is an existing covering and how it is fixed, whether cracks have moved or settled, how earlier repairs were finished, and how even the surface is across a whole wall rather than in patches. What that assessment finds decides whether the wall needs filling, skim coating or full plaster repair before anything is hung.
At the walkthrough we look at the surfaces you want painted or papered and work out what preparation they need. The written estimate covers that preparation, so the repairs and the finishing are both visible in the price.

Usually not. We can often work while you stay at home, and we will go through room access, drying time and any disruption at the walkthrough. Everything not being painted is covered and protected before anything starts.
Can you do wallpaper and painting in the same project?
Yes. We can plan the preparation and the order of work together so the two fit around each other. What the walls need underneath depends on the surface and on the wallcovering, and that is settled at the walkthrough.
