Deerfield built out through the postwar decades. The Illinois DNR survey of the village records Cape Cods from the 1950s alongside ranches and split-levels from the 1960s and 1970s, many brick-clad, with hip roofs, large picture windows and modest Colonial detailing.
On a house built that way the exterior is usually a mix: masonry that was never painted, and painted wood around it in the fascia, soffits, window casings and doors. A repaint often covers the painted surfaces and leaves the brick alone. The written estimate names which surfaces are included and which are being left as they are, so there is no question about what was quoted.
At the walkthrough we look at the surfaces you want painted or papered and work out what preparation they need. The written estimate covers that preparation, so the repairs and the finishing are both visible in the price.

Yes. We can plan the preparation and the order of work together so the two fit around each other. What the walls need underneath depends on the surface and on the wallcovering, and that is settled at the walkthrough.
